Accessibility
This statement is voluntary. BesluitBron is not operated by a public body, so the Dutch decree on the digital accessibility of government does not apply to it. The target is WCAG 2.2 at level AA, and what follows was measured rather than intended.
Status
Partially compliant. The site's own pages meet every point that was measured. What remains open sits in a supplier's consent dialogue, and in two measurements that have not been made.
What was measured
| Date | 16 August 2026 |
|---|---|
| Method | Self-assessed against the running site, not against the source code. No third party audit. |
| Pages | The four language versions of the home page, the pages for journalists and council members, the documentation, and every screen behind the sign-in. |
| Viewport widths | 320, 1024 and 1280 pixels. |
| Colour schemes | Light and dark, measured separately. |
| Browser | One Chromium build. |
What was fixed
Of nineteen findings, fifteen were fixed the same day. The main ones: content no longer overflows on a 320 pixel telephone or on a 1024 pixel screen, controls smaller than 24 pixels were enlarged, a skipped heading level was removed, form fields on the administration screens were given a properly associated label, and a contrast of 4.39:1 in the footer was raised to 4.86:1.
What is not yet in order
- The consent dialogue is in English on the Dutch, German and French pages, and carries no language attribute of its own, so a screen reader pronounces it with the wrong phonetics.
- The text in that dialogue mentions social media features and advertisements. This site has neither.
- The buttons in that dialogue measure 3.93:1, where 4.5:1 is required.
- That dialogue announces itself as modal while the rest of the page stays reachable by keyboard focus.
All four sit in a supplier's software rather than in this site. They have been written up and passed to the party that administers the dialogue. That it is not our code does not make it any less a defect of the delivered page.
What has not been measured
- No Lighthouse measurement has been recorded. The score is therefore unknown rather than met.
- Safari on iOS and iPadOS, Firefox, Brave, Vivaldi and Edge have not been exercised on a real device.
Reporting a problem
An accessibility problem goes to info@besluitbron.nl and is answered within two working days. State the page, the assistive technology in use and what goes wrong; that is enough to reproduce it.
