BesluitBron

Better governance with AI and MCP

BesluitBron is an MCP connector that links Claude, through one address, to the public decision-making record of the Netherlands: 7 sources, 18.6 million documents, from a committee agenda to a court ruling.

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, the open standard an AI assistant uses to reach tools outside itself. BesluitBron is such an MCP server: configure the MCP connector once in Claude and all 7 sources are there.

Ask in plain language. Claude picks the tool itself, reads the underlying records and says with every answer which source it came from, down to the page.

That one address carries seven sources:

  • the meeting documents, agendas, motions with their votes and meeting recordings of 331 municipalities, provinces and water authorities;
  • the register of the Tweede Kamer, with decisions, votes per faction and verbatim records, plus the full text of those same papers, Woo publications by 616 government bodies and consultations on draft legislation;
  • 6.7 million official publications, from a municipal permit to an act of parliament, searchable on their full text;
  • 3.8 million registered rulings of the Dutch judiciary, 959,433 of them with their full text;
  • 2 million documents that stood on Dutch government websites in 2020 and 2021, including the ones that are gone today.

One conversation combines them: from the council debate to the published permit to the ruling on the objection. A single source cannot do that.

One MCP connector to configure rather than seven, and never a choice up front about which source holds the answer. Every tool carries its source as a prefix, so a finding from parliament cannot be mistaken for one from a municipality.

Completely free: no account, no fees. Connect Claude and start asking questions.

The local part comes fresh from the council information systems such as iBabs, Notubiz, GO and Parlaeus, disclosed through Open Raadsinformatie and OpenBesluitvorming.

Sources that open up the same material are added together into one body. Every document is therefore counted once here.
