Each MCP request as a single line: time, connector, tool, duration, hits, documents, bytes, number of calls to the platform, IP address, organisation and whether it was successful. Expanding the row shows the arguments, the calls and an example of the response.
The ‘From memory’ column and the ‘Source’ column go together. The first indicates whether this request was fulfilled without any network traffic. The second indicates where the bytes ultimately came from: directly from the platform, or from the disk layer. A buffered line does not show a status, as nothing was called that could have returned a status; the cached status is shown in the tooltip. A failed call is shown in red.
From version 1.3.39 onwards, there is a ‘Status’ filter above the list. This allows the screen to display only the failed calls, only the successful ones, or all of them. The ‘Errors’ tile on the dashboard links to that filter, so that the number on that tile and the rows on this screen refer to the same calls.
From version 1.3.54 onwards, there is an ‘Organisation’ column next to the IP address, with a filter of the same name above the list. The column displays the name that the client sent in the ‘x-organisation’ header. A dash indicates that the client did not specify a name, which is the usual case. A long name is truncated; the full name appears in the tooltip and in the expandable section for that row. The filter searches for a part of the name, as the client chooses the spelling itself: ‘delft’ also finds ‘Municipality Delft, department of the council clerk’. The ‘Hits’ column shows the total specified by the tool’s response. A response without a total – such as when retrieving a single document – is given a value of 0. A 0 therefore does not always mean that nothing was found. The example response shows the actual figure provided by the tool. Up to and including version 1.4.5, the column was set to 0 for some tools, even if the response specified a total. This applied, amongst others, to search_documents and find_motions from OpenBesluitvorming, and to lists such as list_sources, list_factions and recent_documents. From version 1.4.6 onwards, the column now displays the total in these cases as well. Older records have not been updated. The list of recent calls on the dashboard shows the same figure.
The ‘Documents’ column shows the result returned by the query. For a search query or a list, this is the number of lines in the result. These may be documents, meetings, motions, rulings or publications, but also the lines in a list of municipalities, courts or political parties. The number therefore indicates how many lines a query returned, and not necessarily how many documents. A single query for list_parties, for example, can return hundreds of lines. Retrieving a single document, meeting or ruling counts as 1. A response containing only counts, such as a timeline or corpus_stats, is given a value of 0. This also applies to a response concerning the system itself, such as list_capabilities and platform_status, and to a failed query. A line from the search results page at /zoeken counts the results returned by that single source.
Up to and including version 1.4.7, the column for many tools was set to 0, even if the result contained lines. This applied, amongst others, to search_documents, find_motions and find_recordings from OpenBesluitvorming, to search queries from Rechtspraak and Officiële Bekendmakingen, to list_factions from the Tweede Kamer, and to almost every tool that retrieves a single document. list_capabilities and platform_status then showed 1. From version 1.4.8 onwards, the column displays the figures as shown above. Older records have not been updated. The ‘Documents returned’ tile on Dashboard and the ‘Documents’ column on Overzicht show the same figures.
